Belk is currently in the process of laying off Managers at its retail stores.

In my region all thr fulfillment managers were just let go.
I think a few were offered hourly positions. They always are busy! Not a good sign
The smaller stores will probably be down to a store manager and 1 more salary manager and probably 3-4 key holders. There is no way Belk will bring it down to just a store manager and a few key holders, it’s just not possible to run a store with that. They will cut some in the stores that have more than 1 extra salary manager and that will be about it. I could also see HR being a position that is eventually eliminated.
I think visual folks are toast. Our store had a very talented guy from Macy's who just started at Belk....who was in our store all the time over hoilday.
Have heard from him since Christmas! He was actually good and worked vs just pointed
Big doors will/might be ok...however they won't rehire if someone leaves..an will do much more with less and that will make the talent leave if Belk has any left ( Southpark) an your visual corporate people bye bye..they are going to shrink that pool way down
The small stores are in trouble...my guess it will be a store manager 2 key holders and 10 associates ( if that) and maybe a dock person to unload the truck.that will be scaled down to once a week if that....medium size doors might get one sales manager...
