I got canned today(Melbourne based), came out of nowhere. I feel like a loser but trying not to act like one. Prayers for everyone involved.
1 week per year for severance? That's a pittance. It took me 3 months and rounds of interviews to land a job after I was hit in an RIF.
If you get hit by the RIF apply for your state unemployment benefits today. You'll at least have healthcare and food stamps. More generous than this 1 week per year cr-p.

Just finished my 9:30 appointment with HR in SAS/Rochester. "No longer meets skills needed going further" or some other corporate jargain. 1 week for each year of service, paid out PTO later if you accrue. Can apply again immediately.
And why would they be there the day before layoffs as opposed to the day of?

The people being walked out are at PB, not a peep about Melbourne campuses. Where are your walkouts? Or have you conveniently had your nose up your a-s and didn’t see any so far.
