Seems like every town hall is barely more informative than the last. You may only get one tiny tidbit out of each meeting. Hardly transparent or it just means they are being transparent and don’t have it figured out yet which is a whole other level of concern.

The ABU town hall wasn’t bad, we got … actually it was of no value at all
This is truly the most bizarre and sad thing I’ve seen my entire 32 year career at Chevron and other companies.
We’ve entered the twilight zone
The morale is so low. I think what's not so cool about this org change is the fact that US jobs are being offshored!! If you are curious, go look at the bengaluru india jobs being posted now! Horribly a bad spot for FEs.
@bx So on second thought don’t trust these batches. They may have a heart but it won’t be upfront and center. They are trying to keep a job too, and the wretched reaper, MW, is watching!
@bj+1jneeqsgs Surely they aren’t that devious or cold. If that is the case talk about a culture change! In the end the managers making decisions are still people, hopefully, with a heart. I like to think that they do care even if business is business. I guess we shall see. Hard to say if I would trust anything these people say nowadays if I was in SR. I guess I probably wouldn’t.
Not true. You have to apply for at least one job but it does not say “at your location.” Even if there are zero jobs at your location, you still have to apply for at least 1 job. That’s the problem for the San Ramon crew.
@b1+1jneeqsgs, yeah why so many layers still? Supposedly now with accountability as the leading root cause, shouldn't they be flattening the org structure with less leaders? I guess, Engine will be where majority of the work gets done and where the real work gets done (good luck)!
Honestly AEOI is the only real option for those in California who do not wish to relocate.
In the past people would apply for jobs they knew they had no chance of being selected for, but you can't do that when all someone has to do is walk you in to a Houston job. At that point you're S O L.
I don’t know, @ax+1jneeqsgs, from what they’ve put out there’s plenty of VPs, GMs, and Directors that will have additional managers, TLs underneath them, and in all of this there has to be some positions that are for those of us who actually do work!
They are not posting the org structures because will know there are very few jobs in the US and people will cr-p their pants.
@a8+1jneeqsgs
The jobs are not moving to Houston, they are moving to the Philippines, India and Argentina
Pretty bad when you have to get your information on the process here. Transparency, Accountability and such just sound good in an email. They never expected anyone to really believe it.
aj+1jneeqsgs exactly! And they're made up by pre-selected "accountable" leaders! Well, good for them they do not have to fight for jobs. Easy to say, this has already decided -- don't question it!!! DUH
The ENGINE is stalling with recruitment being more challenging than expected. Seems the talent pool in India isn’t so gullible. Without the ENGINE they can’t run down global staffing levels. Hope they have access to the layoff in India and can see the sh-t sandwhich for what it is!!
If they had this planned well, the new org chart could have been released months ago. This process is being made-up as it goes along. The delays in ENGINE hiring is the biggest obstacle to a well-executed plan. They still don't know who they can and cannot replace.
If you have to apply to 1 job minimum but there are no jobs at your location, then you can EOI. Otherwise you apply for the jobs you’d be willing to take at locations you be willing to live. If you don’t get selected then severance
I think one of the worst parts is the misleading information around AEOI and EOI. They won’t outright say that if you don’t select AEOI and end up with a job that forces you to move (which face it will happen) that you will walk away with nothing. The EOI at the selection round seems precarious at best - my guess is people may be told they have a closed position but stipulate a location change meaning if you can’t move you are SOL.
@a9+1jneeqsgs Or typical gaslighting to tell the employees this is what you asked for based on the CES survey. Thanks LT for being so direct!! next time, ain't filling it out no more!!!
I think this is some psychological thing to use breadcrumbs to keep us moving forward without revolting
Wells Town hall said they had the whole wells org structure, but they weren't going to share it yet. Someone asked if jobs would move to Houston, they deflected and said they weren't sharing that yet.
Why can't they just announce the whole structure and open positions this week?
So it was good I did not follow these meaningless meetings.
Slow release of info through multiple town halls is painful. If they do not have the org figured out at this point, stop the multiple town halls until they do……even at the local BU/Site level. Then rip the band aid off and let the employees know what the future holds.
These townhalls basically feel like, "We're still the boss, but we don't have much to share." I wonder how much productivity we've lost — in dollars — because of these countless, pointless TH.
And this is why this whole fiasco is doomed to fail. Leadership somehow think this is what effective/efficient/transparent looks like. Instead we’ve made a process that is confusing, painfully slow, with maximized morale crushing. They literally cannot help themselves, and no magical org structure can overcome that.
