So, will the company step back from DEI? Will people in the DEI dept. get laid off if they do?

Allsnake is laying low externally on the DEI front. Large groups of internal employees are being told that the words “inclusive” or “diversity” are being eliminated and mention of these terms externally via job boards or social media is to stop immediately. If they doubling down it’s internally to keep the illusion going.
So many people probably don’t know this, but they actually laid off a lot of them at the end of 2023. That’s why for a bit the EIG groups lost their leaders. They were in learning and development and focused on IDE. I know several of them that were laid off and it was very unexpected when it happened.
Clearly not by today's announcement.
I had a front seat for the early days of DEI at ALST and it was wild. They had no sense of vision or strategy, but had brainstormed a bunch of stuff and sent people out to do various activities many of which were illogical / ill defined. Bottom line — it seemed to be largely for show and to tick a box for senior leadership. A little suprised they’re still around since the original leader was turfed some years ago
Likely not for years. Allstate is the internet explorer of Fortune 100 companies: They're just now getting around to trying what most other companies gave up on years ago. Even as other companies are seeing DEI as the corporate blackmail for the inept that it is, Allstate is doubling and tripling down on the nonsense. For or five years from now, when nobody else is paying attention and DEI is relegated to a laughable memory, Allstate will drop it.
Same way they manage their technology, same way they manage everything: Stick with failure and then only walk away from it when nobody's bonus is affected. Stand by for more id--tic training about 'hair discrimination' and mandatory participation in others' mental illness.

You’re f’n corny. Idi*ot.
Hurrrr durrrr “hot fish curry”. Duurr
Sure for DEI unless that includes age / income.
The “quiet cutting” and “silent sacking” since 2020 is age discrimination and company does so guessing get around annoying labor law / WARN act.
where did company say abandoning DEI?
Last I read they remained Fully Committed or such.
What is source ty in advance.
Yes. Another d-mbest question of the week. Should have spent more time in math and chemistry and not home economics
Absolutely not. Tommy never admits mistakes. Not until sufficient time has passed so that no one blames him. In his tenure he has ridden many failed ideas out past any logical points. Of course none of his cadre of yes men will suggest otherwise.
