Employee in Houston on global contract

What would happen the employees in Houston that are a the global payroll, not the US one ? I think there are still quite a lot of them in Houston . Will they be switched to a US contract ?

Global payroll employees are receiving free medical benefits in the U.S. and free education for their children, regardless of whether they hold U.S. Green Cards or citizenship. This disparity is particularly unfair to employees who are being laid off, while global payroll employees continue to receive preferential treatment.

I was answering the OP question. Sorry for the word salad for common sense but OP did not know the answer.
If you don't like the feedback, why read it? :)

The preferred supplier policy is such garbage and costs us more because those agencies know who they’re competing against and all of them have high administrative costs built in to their costs.

OP since no one will tell you anything at Chevron. The ELT stated in the Townhalls, they are moving 90% of the contractors to preferred contract vendors. Some are Accenture, HCL, LTI, WiPro for IT. I do not know the options for other areas but you can look around the org for your role and probably notice the big companies that are "in with the ELT". The companies will be where the largest portion of staff are contracted to.

So in the next year 90% of the contractors will be with a preferred vendor. If you are not with a preferred vendor then you will need to consistently provide a high ROCE for value compared to your cost. You also must be performing a role that a person from a lower cost country can NOT provide for a cheaper price. We are all this together, the goal is lower cost = more value. Therefore bigger bonuses for the top because they have great ideas.

Nice try. Transferrring to US payroll is not just at the push of a button. I recommend you reach out to your HRBP or manager.
