Hi Don, if you continue to reduce hours and cut management positions while keeping the high-salaried VP and RVP roles, it may be time to consider shutting down Belk. The stores are having a harder time meeting their responsibilities, with only a few "golden stores" managing to reach their targets. Additionally, the $10,000 incentive from Synchrony for each new Belk charge account isn't providing the financial boost it once did. It's concerning that associates only receive $3-5 for opening a charge account while that larger amount goes elsewhere.

Yes, they have cut some AP.
Have they cut any AP positions?
How do you think Belk is staying a float with paying their CEO’s VP’S and RVP’s along with all other high salaried Corp people? It’s definitely not the merchandise.
If Belk receives 10k per credit the associates should protest, that’s insane
Belk receives $10,000 for each new Belk Charge account opened, as outlined in their contract with Synchrony. You can confirm this information with your honest store manager or Regional Vice President. Those who don’t su-k up will be the honest ones to ask. I have prior experience in management at Belk, which gives me insight into this matter. Left them 3 years ago. So sad to see this company crumble to the ground.
I didn't know Belk received 10,000.00 for each card opened. I would love to see that in writing.
RVP’S, GvPs are in it for themselves they care nothing about the stores. store managers are in it for the paycheck and bonus only, all on the backs of everyone else. SMH.
Belk's corporate framework is overly extensive and needs urgent reassessment. It is vital for the stores to keep their salaried managers, especially now that working hours are being cut. Best of luck to those who choose to trust the misleading information coming from your RVP and Store Manager. If you’re smart start looking! It’s only a matter of time!!
So they cut the STM position in our store. No notice. Walked in and was told on the spot! Shameful! They care nothing about the employees and we are now told if we don’t get credits we are getting write ups!
10,000 incentive and the employee shaking down the customer gets $3-5. Wow, No wonder that’s the only priority they want for the sales team!!! They are letting the stores run to cr-p with minimal staffing!!
In the pockets of the CEO’s or paying jobbers for that cheep A$$ merchandise they’re buying. Belk merchandise is not the same as it used to be. The quality is terrible!!
Where does that $10,000 go? This seems like a pyramid scheme to me.
