SAS in Clifton to begin random dr-g testing

Rumor has it Clifton is to begin random dr-g testing Monday. With Ca--abis being legal in NJ, corporate is looking to lower the blood on their hands next quarter by targeting clearance holders that should be following federal law not state law.

This turned out to be bullsh-t. but the rumors of a layoff that started a month ago were correct. Right down to the day. March 5.

So thanks for the heads-up. Now I'll just self report before I'm tested . Free vacation with pay and I keep my job !

False rumor. The person who posted it is known to HR. This is gonna be fun. Even if the a hole doesn't get fired, he's toast anyway.

Nothing happening here yet. Probably a scare tactic, or just pure bullsh-t. Nice try B.F.
You're an id--t and you've been outed.

I hope that's true. I'm going to stand outside, (right by the River Rd. exit gate) and goof at all of the sh!theads who got fired for getting stoned. I'm so looking forward to seeing your familiar faces. Payback is sweet as f-k.

Whoever said no L3 site has ever done random dr-g testing is obviously on dr-gs. All of the Texas sites do random dr-g testing of all production personnel who work on planes, run a forklift, manlift or crane. Any on the job injury or on the job damaging of property, company, customer or government owned. Also, in order for the rehab rule to kick in, at least in Texas, you have to self report BEFORE you fail a dr-g test, not after.

I don’t understand what the problemo is. If you have a clearance you have to follow federal law… you don’t have a “state” clearance. Chubsy ubsy even sends out these reminders. The left thinks rules don’t apply to them. If your position requires a clearance they have every right to “check” if you meet those requirements

It could be potential blackmail too if you have a clearance. "You need to resign or we'll let the Feds know and you can be at risk of jail, prison and fines"

If there is severence to deny, then it could save money if it's a for-cause firing. If there's a suspected group of pot heads that get "randomly" selected it could make the bottom line better. This is all hypothetical on my part but I wouldn't underestimate how cheap and petty any business can be. They will go low and cheap as per our healthcare.

What does random dr-g testing have to do with layoffs? Anybody that's currently an employee that tests positive, is going to go to rehab for free. The company holds their job and pays for the whole thing. They're not even allowed to disclose why the person is out on sick leave. Do you really think a cheap company like L3 Harris gives a cr-p whether or not people are on dr-gs? They'd rather not spend the money or the time.

Since I work remotely, will they be sending me a little jar to p-e in?. If so, I'll just get one of my kids to fill it. Or are remote workers exempt? I can't wait to see how this fleshes out in real life. The layoffs that happen next week in Clifton won't have anything to do with dope. Just dopes.

No L3HARRIS site has ever done random testing except for pilots. Testing is done upon initial employment screening and not after. This story is bullsh-t.

While NJ employers can test for dr-g and alcohol use, they can not take any action against an employee that tests positive for ca--abis. Having said that, if the employee has a clearance, the action would have to be taken by the government since that clearance is granted by the federal government and NOT the company. An employer in New Jersey can not test unless there is a suspicion of impairment on the job site. And if that is the case, the affected employee must be given the chance to go to rehab and detox without losing their job. In other words, the company would have to keep them on the payroll while attending rehab and pay for the therapy.
I'm sure this rumor was started by some little geek who wants to see how many people don't show up Monday. Which is when the next round of layoffs is happening in SAS.
I will be there on Monday. No worries at all. And for the record, I'll be stoned.

I know they’re d-mb, I deal with it all day long, especially the PMs/PEs and OPs. Against what qualifications did they hire?
