Don't apply then.. your option 1 can be let's say your existing position in your PSG and second option EOI.

there's some misconception about how this works.
- You are allowed to apply for your PSG, one higher, or one lower. But some roles may also have a range. E.g. if a role has a PSG range 19-22, then you can apply if you are currently PSG 18-23.
- Even if you are selected for a role with a single PSG (not a range) that is 1 higher or 1
lower than your current PSG, then your PSG will not actually change even after you are selected and in the new role. E.g if you are 20 and are selected for a 21, you remain 20. To get the 21 that is consistent with your new role you have to apply for a promo in Nov just like everyone else, and you better hope that there's no promotion freeze or that your role hasn't been regraded or that leaders think you're underperforming at the required level for your role yet. This is how it works for career ladder. For non-career ladder you may get the promo instantly.
With simple questions like that, why are you even working there? I'm good at simple things like that. Why work there? Bad lifelong choices seems to be the answer..
id be darned. im going for one above, not below.
CBU people didn’t get severances if they took the job offer at CNRL or they didn’t. Lots felt the jobs conditions and details were similar.
I was offered a position 2 grades lower and I took it.
if you are offered a position at your PSG and you refuse it, then you do not get severance. If you are offered a demotion and you refuse it it is my understanding from my Townhall. I was in yesterday that you would still get severance.
It's time for everyone to get familiar with the laws around "constructive dismissal" in their respective states. I have similar thoughts around being offered a position with mandatory relocation.
No.
If you apply to it then no, if they demote you it’s the same as severance
The official verbiage has been that if offered a position and declined , would not get severance.
