You missed the boat on coding by about 15 years. AI is where the money train is now.

You missed the “bus” on coding… lots of AI is already built to do it… see Devin AI.

Coding will be done largely by AI before we know it.

@ab+1jn2ew4a3 The US is 249 years old, pretty sure the US didn't come up with this "math and science"...

coding at chevron is a joke. any new hire or incoming new hire, i highly suggest looking at alternatives. if you do come here, come with a plan to get out within a couple years otherwise you will become complacent and will not gain the skills to be competitive outside of chevron. its a trap.

"compete with people (local and overseas) who are willing to take low pay"

the question is where did these folks learn the math and science
most did not come up with it on their own
who gave them this partial knowledge

it feels like we were stabbed in the back like shipping manufacturing overseas
and having those countries steal the technology while certain people up top
continued to make profit

Where i live, there's no way to compete with people (local and overseas) who are willing to take low pay, longer hours and having no personal life. Neither do I want to go there.

The question would be how can one make coding valuable to the business or how can one differentiate and justify that it's worth the higher cost.
