Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

2/26 townhall

Anybody in the townhall today with Rat man?
He's making it seem like there will be no more rifs. Instead they've invested in more AI for us. They were tasked with 14% reduction and they've hit their goal?

Mentioning UHC RIF’s was a passive aggressive way to inform the ranks that we shouldn’t bother applying for jobs there. That’s the last thing they want - we know our IT strategy and weaknesses and plans, so plant the seed that UHC is not an option for us. LOL. The joke will be on him. I hope lots of our top talent end up there.

One of the biggest risks in rebadging is that people don't stick around and then projects start falling off. The only people truly safe are those within 2 years of retirement.

Rebadging for IT will continue through EOY (this info came from reliable mgmt). The agreement is you will be employed as FTE for one year. Your salary can be lower and not sure what PTO you are eligible for. We do not owe EH anything!! I'm not giving one second over my 8 hour workday.

My recollection is that he said that they had to resort to rebadging to meet the budget cut expectations. Because that was said in a past tense, it's easy to assume he meant it was over. BUT -- he never explicitly said "rebadging is done" or "RIF's are done."
That's all any of us needs to know about what lies ahead.
Anyone who thinks that he said cuts are over is deluding themselves.

Any leader, at any level, saying that rifs and rebadges are done is lying. It's impossible to say that because it always happens. As an ELT leader/officer of the company, he should face some repercussions for outright lying. He won't, but he should.

The leaders/teams who were not on the town hall show this morning, or one the ones with their boring slideshow or spark scripted updates, are the ones that feel Jealous about health OS comments. ;)

Just a ship of fools. The blind leading the blind. If you are NOT lazy and incompetent you should not be working here. Everybody is full of sheet and has no idea what the are doing

RIFs are done? Only a fool would believe that, they’re stringing you along so you don’t jump ship because they still need you to train your offshore replacement.

Right at the end, and what does RAT state is the first priority? We have to hit our cost target.

So, more RIF's, more re-badging and giving work to vendors, more people taking the work that are most likely less knowledgeable than the people we already have.

RAT says "people make the difference" and "we already have the best people" so if that is the case, why continue so much deconstruction to an IT function that used to be a great place to work?

I love baseball analogies. The second innings looks bleak but we are going to score a touchdown and bring that hattrick home. Innings two looks hard, but I love to win so while my AIP will be in the millions, yours will not. Thanks everyone!

He is a liar and a cheat. Just a tidbit that leaders are now being told that whenever they talk about AI, they should also say “we need people to support AI” or “AI doesnt mean jobs will be lost”. Lies.

RAT is living upto his name. RAT is not only RIFing but also rebadging all the US jobs to Vendors / Consultancies for a cheap contract. Because of the low rate these vendors submit their RFP, vendors in their plan already include to reduce everyone who are rebadging and send more and more jobs to offshore.

I think that QR code survey is hilarious. The word of the year is clearly RIF.

Allow me to summarize his statements..."Oh by the way"..."AI"...

And...we didn't make up the difference so more RIFs are on the way.

Blah, blah, blah. I wouldn't trust anything this guy says. There will definitely be more RIF's and more budget cuts.

He acts like they didn't want to do this. Sure they did, it has been part of the plan for quite a while now. I can't believe he stated (after mentioning the 14% budget reduction) that they didn't want to impact internal associates. What a foolish statement.

He addresses his audience like they are all first graders.

he brought up rebadging (past tense) like it was already done. He mentioned UHC recent RIFs. Seems he has a front row seat in these chats
