Cliniques gift did not go well in most stores. What are you seeing in your stores. Business has slowed and credits are way down. Cosmetic area is in a panic wondering if this is how it’s going to stay. Lauder gift coming soon and hoping this one does better. The pressure is huge!!!!!

That’s why we voted Trump back to the office. The business will pick up. That is all we need right now. Stability.
Start using the “SalesFloor “ app. Make sure you talk up Estée Lauder. It’s not hard to increase business.
The problem is they are trying to push to many gifts in 1 year. People simply don’t need to buy their cosmetics that many times. The Clinique gift didn’t go as well in my store as it has in the past but not to bad. Lauder gift will 100% go better it always does. Belk needs to just do a huge fall and spring gift. Trying to presell every couple of months just doesn’t work! Also they need to bring back Lancôme that would solve all cosmetic sales issues, it’s not been the same since Lancôme left.
The economy has taken a dramatic shift over the last few years, food prices, car insurance, mortgage rates, credit card interest rates, and even the cost of electricity, cable TV, home insurance, and medical costs have skyrocketed beyond belief. The average Belk customer is a senior citizen on a fixed income, or a family that has a lower middle to middle class income, and they simply are not spending on discretionary items. Sure, a few will, but the vast majority won’t spend for designer bags, expensive cosmetics, and unnecessary clothing, people are trying to pay rent, insurance and put food on the table for their kids, especially the clientele /demographic that Belk attracts.
