HR Website says week of April 21 is earliest exit for AEOI’s accepted on or around March 24… What’s the point? If folks want to leave, why make them wait 4 more weeks?

Some experiences from 2020. Remember that was Covid, we weren't even in the office. We were given 2 weeks "in the office" (remember, we were WFH then) after our EOI was accepted, presumably this was to transfer our responsibilities to our designated successor. Being WFH, this was a joke, but I did go through the motions of sending all my key files and contacts and schedule to my successor. Nobody checked whether this happened or not, or what was transferred. At the end of this 2 week period, we turned in our badges and laptops, you couldn't do any work even if you wanted to. Then we were paid an additional 4 weeks before we were officially no longer Chevron employees.
In the past they offered 6 weeks of redeployment. Yet another way to sc--w us by reducing benefits in this reorg.
Winning as soon as I’m gone!!!
That’s what I’m saying!!!! I want to be gone the next day!!! I don’t want to see any of those n@rcissist one minute longer!!!!!
I don't have it in front of my right now but I thought the 4 weeks of "redeployment" meant you're basically getting paid to look for work elsewhere.
I don't think people will actually be working or expected to be on site for a lot of that four weeks.
