This is mostly Federal nomenclature. I agree with @a5+1, I've never seen a re-hire. Once they decide to cut ties, it's permanent.

The intent isn’t to bar anyone from employment opportunities…it’s specific to chevron projects/work for the contractor piece. If you go to work for Deloitte or Sodexo we aren’t checking that in any way…if you go to work for them and then need chevron credentials as a contractor through them, that’s the problem. Chevron is not and will not try to persuade contractors not to hire ex-Chevron employees. The language is specifically outlined so people can’t double dip on years of service in severance packages. You repay it so you keep all your years of service when you return in year one (if fall into the rehire window). So I can’t leave with 10 yrs payout, come back in 6 months, then get 14 yrs severance pkg 4 yrs from now in the next cycle (just an example).

Start looking for a good law firm now and retain an experienced and savvy attorney with a good track record of suing large corporations and winning large payouts. By wasting no time strategizing with the attorney early on, you will know what to do now and what evidence to gather. By the time you are selected to be laid off, your advance preparation will ensure a higher settlement amount. Homework is the key. Keep your secret to yourself only.

If you get left standing, find a job at Wood or Worley, do you have to recuse yourself from ANY Chevron related work for a year, or is it that you cannot be a green badge contractor for at least a year?

It prevents some deals where a supervisor can let their company employee go, give them severance, then immediately rehire them through a consulting firm.

I would imagine the stipulation would be working on Chevron properties, don’t think it would be an issue if a contractor for Chevron but not performing work on chevron property. Always thought it was a 6 month rule , apparently not.

It's because those who do wait the year first is why you don't hear of that happening, duh.

Just working at a consultant/contractor who has a contract? Or working specifically on chevron projects? Seems wildly unreasonable to bar someone you laid off from working at large company that may have dozens of other clients.

I never saw anyone get rehired ever. There were two that came back as contractors.
