I’ve had a large amount of people quit their teams in my department and we have gotten news that we are not backfilling their roles/ we are in a hiring freeze for the time being. Not really given any answer why beyond “money is tight right now.”
Also got a lot of red flags at the last town hall when they had HR give a presentation on upskilling yourself and learning to use AI “in case you get a new job/ your next job” which I felt was in poor taste. HCSC is very adamant that most employees are not allowed to use AI tools and they are barred from our company devices. The presentation left people feeling uneasy that a layoff might be coming.
