Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Workday- Military Service

Anyone else get a questionnaire regarding military service in workday? Seemed kind of odd and specific. Had questions regarding disabilities and other types of service. Anyone care to shed some light on it?

The survey has nothing to do with layoffs. It is a federal requirement to resurvey the workforce every five years for disability status and just so happens the last time it was done was in 2020 so it was time to resurvey. Veterans self-I’d is also required because of federal contracts Chevron holds. People making selection decisions do not have access to this info.

Standard gathering/confirmation each year.

it's something called SELF ID. It's a good thing to know the demographics of your organization, but you are free to NOT disclose.

Never give up personal information, especially when it's not clear why they're gathering it, and what they're going to do with it.

collecting as much info to know the demographics and how to protect the company in any potential situation
its not about caring for you and your "group"

This sounds like data gathering to ensure that potential discrimination lawsuits are preemptively quashed. A way of saying "See? We have just as many or more of (protected group) than we did before layoffs, therefore we didn't discriminate against you."
