By the time things settle down, we’ll all be nuts. I wouldn’t worry as much if the prospects of finding another job were better or if the economic outlook seemed more promising. But the cost of losing a job these days can be incredibly high.

Actually you would have to have been an individual who is in the country I!!egally to get those “programs” to assist those out of work. Just change your citizen status and you will have access to all the money you need. Especially the social security funds all citizens are paying into. They are so nice to provide that!
Even if you get laid off, the USA is by far the richest country in the world with numerous safety nets available to help people. Oh, I forgot, DOGE and DJT trashed all the programs that helped the average American in tough times to cut taxes for the top 1% like MW, Sorry buddy, the USA doesn't care about guys like you anymore, you're on your own. You're not alone. A lot of people feel like that including me. I've considered making a doctor appointment just to get some SSRIs just go treat my anxiety.
You’ll get 2 months pay, 6-12 months health insurance and can claim unemployment while you look. You’ll be okay. Treat the job hunt like a job, dont let it discourage you. You could also look at further education or certifications too
