Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

why is chevron the busiest board on thelayoff dot com?

honestly, look at 'latest posts' and chevron shows up more frequently than any other company?

i know we are in a rough situation but i'd think that there companies that are in more dire situation than we are?

something is off? is it the fact that our folks are typically more vocal?

i have no clue, i am just noticing something that's a bit surprising.

thoughts?

Seems like you would want to have the general org chart structure figured out before announcing layoffs and that managers already had an idea of who is essential or not. But they announce first and figure it out after

And look at this thread, it's been about 30 min since it was posted and there are 100+ Chevroids who already have seen this post.

I think people know other people are looking and that someone actually listens to what you have to say.

Not sure why other boards are not as active, maybe people do not know this is where real discussions are taking place. Check out posts on LinkedIn, it milk and honey, nothijng but praise for the execs - every other post is like "I am excited to announce" or "I am proud to say". Here you do not see that kind of nonsense, people say it lik it is.

My guess is most other companies announce layoffs and get it done within a month or two. Chevron likes to drag it out for a year, and Chevroids are on here for that entire time.

No, it’s not because our people are more vocal. Have you actually been to a meeting here? It’s because way too many... let’s call them ‘underachievers’, myself included, are hanging around here, responding to completely ridiculous posts and treating this site like it’s our personal social media. Which, let's be honest, it kinda is at this point.

This is because we still have a ton of people who remember what a well-managed company is
