You would expect more from an Ivy League graduate from the big green Dartmouth. I would expect they require students there to take a Business Ethics course. I hope she is generous to Dartmouth College as she surely has not mandated cuts at the e-suite team on parity with cuts that were dealt out last week. It would be so much more meaningful and palatable if the stated goal was to improve the health of our members and reduce doing our part of a responsible corporation to reduce the cost of insuring them versus just a reduction of lights on cost and cost optimization. Yes both of those can bring overall cost of insurance down but having it not stated with the focus on our external customers (our members, providers, groups) is just distasteful. The perception is we are doing this just to line the golden pockets of a few at the expense of talent pool we are giving away and letting go. Can't wait for the rah rah town halls and how we plan to spin this.
