There was a previous post that announced RTO would be officially announced. It got a lot of negative votes and people posting angry responses. Now we got the information today.

You cannot tell people anything if they don't want to hear it; some people deserved to be laid off by surprised if they don't want to listen

Do all new hires now have to be located near a HUB? What if you're located near a client center but not a HUB?

Since there are no HUBs in Florida, does that mean all remote Florida employees will be let go?

How do you mean? I am confused how an email asking employees to RTO could be taken as a layoff.

I got caught up in a layoff of 6 in my department. I will say not sure how they pick but I can stand on the outside looking g in and wonder why some are still there and I am gone.

Thank you for the heads up let us know when layoffs are. Hard to imagine they would ask people to come back to the office give a bonus and then lay people off.

Company’s can let you go as long as it’s not for discriminatory (age, gender, disability, racial, military obligations) reasons. I would not be surprised if the company begins reassigning employees to new teams only to lay off the entire team to avoid any discrimination lawsuits.

I know of a manager that was laid off this week due to not living near a hub. Fantastic manager too! A sign of things to come....

Can i say that USB has completely botched the RTO strategy. Covid hit and we were all told to WFH. USB was obviously going to make us come in at some point. They released that everyone was "moments that mattered" and we would be told that we were to come into the office on designated "moments that matter" days. Then the rug was pulled and it was RTO 3 days a week. Since that announcement it has always been such a gray area. There's been the 30 mile designations and the hub cities, the tracking software. are PTO days and holidays counted in that 3 a day span. Now its 11 days a month and you are good. WHAT IS THE REAL ANSWER! its just a guessing game and they really want us in office 5 days a week. They are only trying this for soft layoffs.

This happened to me. There was a person I worked with, found out they were about to be fired. I approached this person in confidence hoping to prepare them. That person started talking to others and even confronted their own manager and was released immediately.

Will senior leadership be required to work in the bank's footprint now? I found the expense management directives hilarious when leadership had to fly into market every week.
