Anyone with valid intel on rational of AEOI? Given the Company only offers things in its best interest, just curious. Is it just a way to get folks off payroll sooner than the selections? Any guesses on number or percentage submitting AEOI (not sure we can ever confirm)?

If expediency was the driver then they could have had this whole ordeal done and dusted three months ago. Oh wait, this is Chevron. Not even saving money happens quickly around here.
Think about the timing…if people leave before April 1 (as will be the case with AEOI), they are not eligible for 25% of this years bonus to be paid next year. That’s the company’s reason.
Get people out the door who want out to save money more quickly. They also aren't around to clutter up the restructure and job hunt process later.
think about this as the first part of the hunger games movie where the majority rushes to the cornucopia and most of the culling happens there thenthe competition is able to progress in a more organized manner
Cut earlier saves more, and there are people ready to retire or already lining up new jobs. Might as well clear them out as early as possible in the process.
If people want to leave, the sooner they are out the door the more money we save. No reason for them to wait for the entire process to roll out if they have no intention of staying. Sack them early and often.
Here in SJV there are several who are at the point of retirement and have been holding out for a package (seems we do this every 18-24monhts since about 2014) I would imagine the company knows there are people waiting, probably company wide, who don’t want to post for jobs and just want that 2/1/52 paycheck that they’ve been waiting for.
