Leveraging a global workforce isn’t just a trend; it’s a strategy that has worked very well for decades. When you look at our setup, the majority of back-office tasks are already being handled offshore, and it's working. The problem we face now is how to sustain the inefficiencies of our bloated onshore enterprise teams. Their annual demands and expectations of higher pay, more benefits, better work-life balance, and remote work are simply not sustainable.

To perform better and compete with our peers, we need to operate differently. We need to streamline management, build a global talent pool, and simplify our processes. Look at the IT team in the U.S. It’s been fed an enormous budget and has grown into something massive, yet how well has it really performed? How many of the IT GMs, DMs, platform chapter heads, and advisors are essential to our future? Who in the agile team is essential for efficiency? Which of the IT supervisors and managers are essential to our success? Rebuilding that team from the ground up just makes sense.

And let's be clear, it doesn't make sense to have drilling engineers, facilities engineers, landmen, or turnaround schedulers offshore. That’s not where we would gain efficiencies through offshoring.

We need to take a new approach, enforce accountability from the top down, start with a clear vision, and eliminate frivolous programs and bloated management overhead to perform better.

So the economics of replacing Americans (and other high cost workers) with Indians is pretty strong. You can easily get two Indian engineers for one American and still have a ton of money left over. This is one of those stupid BCG, McKinsey ideas that have been percolating around Corporate America for a while and our su---r execs bit on it. D-mbasses. Therefore you will have people who think sour vs. sweet is a yogurt drink and have zero clue about an oilfield. This is literally the stupidest idea ever and will wreck this once great company.

My brother-in laws' cousins' friends' mom has a coworker whos' daughters' hairdressers' lawn care guy said that his friend is an Engineer in the States and said the same thing that he heard from one of his girlfriends who knows an Indian guy who got hired on with Chevron and they are only paying him about $20k/yr. .

I know of one India hire that was entry level engineer and they are getting a 10k a year salary. That is why they are dumping the USA engineer, what would have been a entry level new engineer salary of $100k is now $10k in India. The India new hire was telling his friend in the USA which is a student at a major engineering university. That student told my child whom is also a student.

They literally brought Argentinians on tour the other day. It was like, “hi I’m replacing you! Wow your office is amazing, take me to lunch.” Extremely tone deaf for this environment.

Has the turnover rate in BA gotten any better? Seemed like I was working with someone new there every 4-6 months in my last role

Argentinians are so much better as workers than north/Central Americans, and their cooking is fabulous - but highly beef-centric. How will Argentinians and Indians work together? Cows are sacred in India, and a delicacy in Argentina?

How do the last two comments not understand what @an+1 meant? He didn't mean 100% of the Americans will be laid off... he meant 100% of the layoffs wil be American. Big difference, and he's probably correct... with some Canadians and Austrailians tossed in for good measure.

They plan to replace Americans with lower cost foreign workers. Friend of mine said this layoff will be almost 100% US
