Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

We are following the Boeing path to disaster

I think MW and MN and the ELT and BOD look around at tech companies like X and now DOGE cutting or offshoring huge amounts of personnel to save on costs and assume Chevron can do it too. Boeing thought they could send engineering work offshore to cheaper locations and gave the world the 737MAX debacle and other recent infamous issues.

You can offshore some work with minimal risk. Offshoring engineering and design work is asking for disaster. I’m glad I won’t be working on anything designed by these low cost, low experience ENGINE folks, and it has nothing to do with their nationality but everything to do with my own personal safety

Perhaps now the Gas at chevron station will not be 70c more expensive than at ARCO? one can dream lol but seriously how can a gas station justify that difference? .

It basically the same product despite what all the lunatic cool-aiders claim about Techron

Their analog isn't tech companies. Their analog is the E&Ps which are already doing a better job with 70% less staff.

As for offshoring. Chevron already offshore their design work (EPC). The only difference is you've removed the American middle-man that hands the requirements from the asset team to the EPC.
