Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

What happens if you’re currently on a Paid LOA?

I’m currently on a paid leave of absence and unable to access my work computer. I received only a vague notification from an HR-Direct representative who barely spoke English and couldn’t provide any clarification. I would like to attend the ‘meeting’ that everyone is referring to before making any decisions regarding this matter. Could someone please provide me with more information? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If the position is eliminated, ie eliminated for India employees - you’re not protected. Of course you’ll never know if you got rifted for India employees that you got rifed. But your position is eliminated unless u did jack before leave… but legally UHG being an accounting company knows how to proceed legally… Thank DOGE for leading the government standard for “How to RIF” American jobs

That is one of the bullet points for managers on the vrsp site with FMLA and LOA employees. If your manager has not then now you know. Login and visit the site. There will also be call sessions and if additional questions you can submit to the sp site.

Reach out to HR Direct they will provide you an email address to get more information. According to the information I received as I’m on a leave also those on a leave will not have permission to attend the sessions.

That doesn’t sound legal- FMLA doesn’t protect you from general layoffs, but you also can’t be targeted because of it

For those on LOA they will probably be the first to be let go

@a2+1jmcnmd17, thank you for your suggestion. I’ll try contacting HR again. I had already reached out to my supervisor, but I haven’t received any response.

OP+1jmcnmd17 I would reach out to Minnesota HR directly the first level of HR I agree their English is not good but once they get you through to someone they have been understandable. You can see what options you have then and they can forward you the info. Or if someone on your team can get you the info also. You could also reach out to who you report to.
