These roles are just glorified meeting organizers and status update gatherers, they have PSG levels 23 and above. RTE should be renamed to RTC (Release Train Conductor) because they don't build anything.

Oh God this topic is do funny. thanks for the laugh
Its truly amazing is how these PSG's 23-25 make it seem like they know something - that in itself is truly a wonder to behold. They would be great in a Pyramid scheme marketing role.
Get rid of the whole id--tic structure, Agile, scrum, release trains, trust chevron to sodo--ze any roll out of any concept. People in these roles have never previously heard of the titles yet along know what to do in them..yet everyone nods like they have an idea of what they are meant to do.
Fire them! Useless!
Why would we offshore RTE and Scrum Master ropes?
Before Agile, when we did waterfall with CPDEP, we had project managers who were PSG 23+ who you might say were ‘just glorified meeting organizers and status update gatherers’. Some were pretty good at putting together 70+ pages of museum quality DRB decks though. I guess we should have gotten rid of them back then too. Could have saved a ton of money.
Our RTE makes OE Moments in everything we know about. Our SM is completely useless and is somehow 100 percent dedicated to two scrum teams that don’t even do scrum. We are all sick and tired of the bile and the waste. Whoever thought of this at Chevron should be kicked out.
Ya i agree with poster below me… the app “engineers” are a joke lol. One of them didn’t know what a for loop was when it came up in a convo. How tf are they titled “engineers” in the SWE chapter? It’s a joke lmao .
RTE is a ultimate waste (a few are PSG 25) - only show up during PI planning and disappear. Scrummaster is just ok... MOST of these guys has ZERO real world experience - well before Chevron IT started Chevronizing SAFE and Agile....
Letting go of people with no legit IT skills is honestly very easy at Chevron - RTE, Scrummasters, App Engineers (they are not engineers-- all are BAs)... almost 2/3 of SE do not know really how to code or automate , some folks who code are used to doing busy POC work.... most do not know simple SQL (40 years old by now) needed for Data Engineers
if you have been in IT for many years and never done ANY type of script to automate anything including packaged install software and show that script or code in a repo somewhere ... Chevron IT or any other IT company outside should want you
We have a RTE that pops into it our meetings now and then and most times, when he’s asked a question (which is rare) he always says “… can you repeat that…” or “… say that again…” lol.
The world is a better place without the useless sCrUm aGiLeEEee fat. Trim it ALL.
Bruh if they get to stay while SWEs like myself who are grinding to get the actual work done get cut, ima be so mad. Still can’t understand why these midwits get paid so much to literally ask for updates.
They should just be gone entirely
