Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

What do employees think of executives like Brian Thompson, Andrew Witty, and Tim Noel?

Are they generally well liked, or do employees wish they had different leadership? I've worked here for 8 years, and as a lower-level employee I've never had any kind of interaction with them. After the Thompson shooting lots of people asked me about him, and I really had nothing to say other than that he seemed like a nice guy during all-employee meetings, but beyond that I have no insight.

So how do you personally feel about the names mentioned in the title? What about former executives like Dirk McMahon, Steve Nelson, Dave Wichman, and Steve Hemsley? What do you think the general consensus is?

They make (and made) 10s of millions a year while they outsourced and laid off so many. I don't like that he died, but it's not something I lost sleep over.

The only sympathy I have is for Brian's kids. Other than that, never heard a word from ANY CEO in this company until his death. Then all of a sudden, the employees are bombarded with videos and emails from this Andrew person who, in 20 years, I've never heard from. All that was was damage control. The media is so focused on the the claims process of United Healthcare, too bad they never talked to the actual employees that work for the company to get a quite different and clearer picture of this company. All the sh-t they do behind the scenes that are downright illegal in handling claims and just paying for services that the employer's don't want covered all to keep the stacking up of claims and time to pay penalties to a minimum. Offshore people handling claims for groups that have it specifically written in their contracts that all of their claims must remain in the United States for processing. Bet these huge groups insured with UHC don't know any about that.

It happened with a lot of companies today so me with the company 8 years I’m not doing the buyout you will forfeit unemployment in Texas. My whole department is going in specialty benefits including sups and BM’s. On a Monday they just read a statement than disconnected. Just posted a link so this is what companies do make profits than severance or layoffs. I’m not saying going the severance I will get unemployment in Texas. If you are taking the severance they are going to tax that lump sum by 30%.just a heads up in case you are taking it.

I used to work for UHC but got terminated for not complying with the vaccine mandate.

I didn't interact with Brian much so can't really comment on him but Andrew Witty had such empty eyes in his Town Halls. My soul was disturbed.

I personally am glad to not work there anymore and I wish others who are at a crossroads right now the best of luck and hope they find something better.

Also even then I knew the Healthcare industry is going to collapse.

I think there are a lot of employees who work there that actually do care and strive to make sure that claims are paid correctly but I think that mentality stops at the lower levels of the company. The executives, just like most other CEOs at major corporations, make way too much money than they deserve and don’t give a cr-p about the employees who bust their humps for them. It’s sad. They don’t have any type of holiday party or send out holidays cards or anything. It’s pretty sad when companies get too big for their britches.

I would kick my son or daughter’s keester if they cheated workers out of their money and patients out of their treatment. My kids were raised right so they would never

All you people making general comments about the insurance industry have no clue how the real world works. Sounds like you're all jealous because you're not as competent or driven enough to be as successful as these "old white guys" you're complaining about.

I have worked at UHG for 18 years and work hard and put in effort, and have been rewarded for it. I actually did have a 9% raise last year, but it's because I work hard and contribute to the company. I work with a lot of great people that care about people and are trying to improve the healthcare system for everyone. The fact is UHG pays out 98% of claims. 1.5% of the 2% they don't pay is due to a duplicate submission or incorrect submission. The comments some people make wishing cancer on people is just insane. You clearly don't care at all about humanity and I'm ashamed to know you even live on the same planet as me. How would you feel if that was your son or daughter?

Stop believing everything you see and hear on social media and the main media outlets. They all have an agenda, and their agenda doesn't involve the truth.

Ya know, I was going to hope that they all get stage 4 rectal cancer so that they could finally feel how much of a pain in the a$$ they have been to everyone around them, but I figured that might go a little too hard

all of them would sell their mother if it meant meeting quarterly earnings goals. Witty got a 11% raise last year, did you? Numerous executives sold off stocks before a DOJ investigation was made public. Tim Noel is an expert at su-king the government te-t. Search for "wsj uhc medicare" and you'll come across numerous articles of how UHC maximizes profits at the expense of the federal government. They only care about one thing and that's their compensation, they don't care about any of us and I sure as sh-t don't care what happens to them.

A bunch of old, white men who talk at (not with) all the employees at their town halls and do nothing for the betterment of anyone except themselves and the shareholders.
