UHC Voluntary Resignation Severance Program

UHC Operations & Experiences 30,000 employees have been offered a Voluntary Resignation (VRSP) program with a window from Feb 24th to the first week of March, with a small severance of 7 weeks to a max of 30 weeks if you've been with the company 25yrs or more. Resignation through VRSP becomes effective on May 1st.

If Resignation quotas aren't met, involuntary layoffs will start.

My question is are we going to get our accumulated PTO paid out if you volunteer to be laid off or laid off in general???

Our supervisor has already started our evals this week but any increases dont go in effect until March.

It makes me wonder if they are going to wait on our evals until all of this is done.

Anyone know what happened to senior director Lynette Tabin over E2E? She is no longer on the Teams org chart and her direct reports are now showing as reporting to Steve K.

Been looking for my next thing anyways. Excited to have some extra motivation to get out.

This is wrong. A company with net income of roughly $14B just gets rid of employees for more money. Capitalism doesn’t give a sh-t about common people.

How were the 30K employees identified?

Is this a legit layoff in a fancy package? Why are supes not saying anything to us about it?

Is that really the rule of thumb?

Rule of thumb on buyouts take it if offered. Next round of involuntary the terms will be worse until they hit the magic number they want

Is anyone considering it? On one hand I like my job but if I’m going to be laid off anyways with worse severance package…

Being with UHC for 8 years, we had a crazy short meeting and offered VRSP and have to decide soon with 12 weeks severance. unsure what to do and am very frustrated and confused. Whether to accept or not

What is the quota the company is looking to meet before involuntary layoffs are started??

So within the eligible teams, its offered to everyone grade level 32 or below? So everyone from call staff to VPs, regardless of years with organization or specific role? The meeting I was in did not have the full team, but assuming it was still offered to them in a separate meeting?

My daughter just informed me that her department was not offered the "severance package".

It's not everyone under Mike Baker. If you're impacted that info is available on the sharepoint page they shared (the Who is eligible and Who is not eligible sections) . E&I was not impacted but it looks like everyone else in Benefit Ops might be.

Nice start for the new CEO. Way to throw a middle finger to those who’ve carried this company

It was offered to everyone under Mike Baker from my understanding.

Is Ops and Experience all the teams under Ben Line or all under Mike Baker? Or just select teams within this org? They did not tell us in this meeting who all it was offered to beyond our team.

Was this offered to everyone in Ops and Exp? Or just select employees within these teams?

I haven't been at this company very long and would probably take it at this point. I need to get out of the health insurance space. Doubt I'll get the option, though.

No, you can only opt into the VRSP program if you're in one of the eligible organizations.
