It probably doesn't make a difference this time around. Both CTC and MCBU will be gone, just as all BUs are gone in the new org. Their functions will be reshuffled. All will see cuts.

Not all CTC folks will be let go. I imagine anything that directly supports operations won't be touched. I also think if they're training you to rejoin a BU later, you'll be fine. The people I'm less confident about are the ones that seem to work on special projects within a vacuum where those special projects have less of a reach.
