Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

Why rebadging to UST?

I know it does not matter where we are rebadged to but why not big players like IBM or Cognizant or Accenture? UST is a small player. Do they have process and support systems to manage such a huge rebadging operation? I have bad feeling all the rebadged Elevance employees will be forced to quit by themselves soon.

Not sure what it is called in India, but in the United States, it is called greasing palms. :)

UST is not a smaller player anymore..35K + employees. They are not going to fire anyone..But you will be frustrated working over there under below par mangers .Indians will survive such situation but not Americans. That is what they want.

UST can require they move to India, work them to death, then cheaply dispose of their bodies in the Ganges.

Why? Because UST is run by guys from India who see kickbacks as normal part of business. Anil was very cosy with UST and I am sure the Rat is too.

Big players cannot rebadge and fire. UST is in crisis. Will do anything to get more revenue. They won’t mind firing these rebadged employees.

No one outside the rat in IT leadership wants this. Less jobs and bodies means less staff vp/VP roles here. This is all due to incompetent leadership over the course of a decade and feeling that third parties can run IT better than we can

Well said. Can’t agree more. It will soon be all about bill rate, profitability, onsite offshore optimization and nothing on quality of output or value to Elevance members or business. Just body shopping like commodities.

Several associates within the Sydney area joined Hellevance from UST years ago when they no longer could tolerate the meager salary UST was paying, not to mention the micromanagement and other inherent issues there. UST started off very small and grew a lot mainly from Anthem business. They used that to secure more contracts from other Blues.

The upper management in UST still runs it like how they were at the beginning - too hungry for money. There is lot of conflict of interest and ethical concerns in this whole rebadging exercise. Perhaps Anil left when he saw this coming and RAT was all ready to dig the bigger hole.

What a pity! Too sad the associates are being treated like commodities in a mercantile exchange.

Elevance now is into body shopping.

Agreed, from whats known since this all was being strategized, big companies walked away from this disaster of a strategy, UST is a smaller player, lower cost, seemingly hungrier to compete and their whole job seems to be to take some of these folks in and quickly let them go. This is probably because Hellevance does not want to be in the news for letting their core teams go. UST will feel the pain, they are biting more than they can chew, they won’t be able to deliver and they are not the slick company that can handle this pain. With all this the talent that organically grew within the company will leave. Hellevance is a disaster!!
