Does any one know if couples are being targeted this time?

They aren’t including HiPos or Nepos in the scope

But there should be a rule that you can’t be related in the same business unit as a spouse in a leadership role, and you definitely can’t be in the same line of command

I got laid off in 2020 and my wife got promoted. Not one day goes by she doesn’t remind me about it.

Couples are targeted where both are under-performers. I have seen it happen where both were fired at the same time (by different organizations). We referred to it as "the family package".

I have also seen inept but influential general managers try to keep their kids from getting sacked by others in Chevron and failed, mostly because they didn't have quite enough pull to intimidate another GM or MD.

They should look in to it, ABU has several double dippers, delivering nothing, gossiping, controlling positions of influence and having their significant other kiss up the chain..

This is a brain dead post. They do not “target” couples. There were at least 2 instances I know of where a GM level spouse got a job, and the other half got left standing, non-voluntary.

When PDCs happen, we look at creating positions potentially for spouses in expat assignments. It is a common practice that we try really hard to land both spouses together for PDC moves. In layoff events, these are independent selection events and we absolutely have not targeted couples.

Speaking as PDR/personnel rep in PDCs and ROMs in the past.

For your pensions, one of you may want to take the lump sum and the other the annuity.

That couple thing was a great gig because the majority of the couples were engineers who became managers and just pulling in BANK! These couples should have no problem moving on…

How about the dual career bozos where neither is adding any value? That's like most of the current millennial, gen Z new hire dimwits.

I certainly hope so. Can’t stand the dual career bozos. Trailing spouses with no talent are rampant. Riding on the coat tails of their high potential partners while adding no value.

With some of the affairs happening through the years you could definitely save some HR FTEs...

Well, equal opportunity laws are still in place despite Trump's insane executive order, so it would really be pushing the edge of what's legal if chevron targeted married couples because it could be considered discrimination.
