Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Tips as we prepare to EOI?

Besides the obvious to save money and look for another job, what are you doing to prepare for your exit? I saw a thread discussing 401k. what else? bank vacation or spend it all? benefits? let’s help each other through the inevitable.

You can select the "cash" option for any hoarded R&A unless you really want lots of gift cards.

I need to be sure I use up my hoarded R&A money. Lots of Amazon gift cards, I guess.

As an ex employee who has been through exactly what you're facing my suggestion would be to consult with an attorney today and decide your plan of action before the day comes to sign a severance. DEI and nepotism programs within CVX have led to many employees of great value on the street while employees with little value continue employment. If you believe that you are in the productive employee group and are losing your job for DEI purposes and you sign that severance agreement you will void any options for retribution. After leaving CVX and taking a severance package in lieu of movement to a new position my only regret is not filing a class action suit after watching many of my peers lose positions in preference of worthless employees who were eventually let go anyways due to incompetence. Know your rights and your worth.
Finally, you're better off even though it won't feel like it immediately. The executives at CVX could reduce their bonuses and allow you to retain your job but that will never happen, you are just a number in a poorly run company.

Take care of yourself (physically and mentally), make a plan B to start getting ready for a future outside of Chevron (work on resume, leverage free trainings, etc.), start networking.

We will be fine.

If you are doing FSA, you can use up your entire annual balance but once you leave, you can only use it up to the last day of your employment.

I would read up on this to make sure .. and any spending accounts you may have.

I think many saw this coming and have been banking accrued vacation. I have close to 206 hours that mostly transferred over from last year.
