It’s great that we have all white people addressing the topic of DEI and how much we care about it.
And then it got me thinking about how IT is full of Asians - as in, the actual technical professionals in the function are heavily Asian. But yet LC’s leadership team is full of non-technical people who can barely spell out Information Technology and definitely don’t know how their people work.
DEI for sake of DEI might be bad. You can argue that on both sides. I don’t think you should fill a diversity quota and should be competent in your job. But it’s a real big issue when you have the model minority, highly technical, high performing, heads down deliverers of your function to be represented by only white people who can’t write a line of code to output Hello World.
