If you have a store level Human Resources lead in your store location, they are not a real, experienced Human Resources. Most store level H.R., have absolutely no Human Resources credentials, in fact, it’s a rarity if your store level Human Resources lead is even a college graduate. The main focus of a store level H.R. is to monitor and adjust schedules and budget, correct incorrect time card punches, regurgitate corporate emails, and complete store write ups under the direction of a store manager. So basically, your store level H.R. is just a glorified administrative assistant. And sooner than later most of these “HR lead positions” will be eliminated and store management will absorb those duties, for the most part, stores can still operate without a store H.R.

Most HRLS get paid about 19 an hour. How can you survive off of that and expect them to have a college degree? lol I wouldn’t want to be 100k in dept in college and make 19 an hour. You’re right about the administration part as well.. If the store manager doesn’t want to term someone they will not do it even if it was approved by HRBP.. HRLS do everything, ring in register cover lunches, push out freight, make schedules, cash room, hiring, correctives, ship to home.. and they get paid way less than an STM.. LMFAOOO an STM doesn’t even know how to do schedules. Belk is a fu*** joke!
