The rumors were swirling of layoffs and cuts.
The emails were vague, the tension was tight,
Would we have jobs by the end of the night?

EOI has already been mentioned. Not sure where everyone else was.
They have been planning this to be the start of the official communication to employees. There has been drastic reorg plans going on for a LONG time, under a lot of 'secret-squirrel' NDAs. The BOD of directors endorsed plans in the Fall, the GLF were informed in Oct, and the senior roles have been decided on. This is the start of the comms plan, next we'll hear details from our functional and/or BU MDs with more detailed org and % cuts. Expect to have the option of EOI mentioned today.
But I heard him exclaim, as he wrapped up the townhall —
“We have to be competitive, so layoffs for some, but remember… stay safe yall !”
I heard they might announce layoffs tomorrow
