European Union will be taking a closer look at all American high tech firms.

Top management only cares about meeting the quota of how much TC they have to save. So new employees with high TC since no one gets raises or someone they don't like will get RIF.

Afaik India is given what seems like 0 days notice and should already be out and deactivated on Slack, US employees 2 weeks notice and European employees 1 month notice. So most of EMEA RIF employees will disappear next month.

They are probably freeing up money to invest in the ai boondoggle without lowering dividends which have consistently rose though pay hasn't and inflation has.

Yes. People seem to have been affected by the RIF in February despite exceeding performance. OCI. It seems to have affected everything from senior engineers in the US to employees in India. It doesn't make sense because we still have the same amount of work to do, but with less staff?

Nothing big, but it seems to be about 1 employee from every team. Almost like the upper management got told to please cut X USD in salary to free money for Y. Rumor has it that it's because of The Stargate Project and freeing up money for AI initiatives just like every other big tech company is doing now. So I think it has nothing to do with performance but corporate strategy.

Since this seems to be pretty secret with nothing in the news? Maybe it is limited to only our product or Oracle is trying to keep this under wraps?
