Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

How does the exec team still have jobs?

Stock Past 5 years
OT down 40%
IBM up 72%
Oracle up 222%
Accenture up 81%
Salesforce up 73%

Every good software leader on the planet knew you DO NOT TELL YOUR CUSTOMERS THEY MUST GO TO THE CLOUD. But OT tried to force it and THEY LOST!
Now the id--ts have to admit they have to allow customer to own software with perpetual licenses IN THEIR OWN ENVIRONMENTS!
MB pathetic leadership has ki-led this company and hurt thousands of employees.
Get rid of him!

The board is as useless, incompetent , and ignorant as the investors are. Listen to our latest investors call, not a single difficult question asked, because, simply, they are getting dividends and somehow believe that it will be better next [month, quarter, year]. I feel sorry for us as employees but more so for those who are losing their jobs as a result.

Correct regarding the purchase of MF, but our culture is also somewhat backward. The board really needs to investigate what is actually going on.

After the superbowl, Patrick Mahomes told everyone it was his fault.
He took responsibility for his actions.
How many times has MB done a 180 and not once accepted responsbility for his terrible decisions. He has zero principles. Z E R O. He has Z E R O original thought and his views change with the wind.

No idea. OT is being lead by mb who does not go around a roundabout but drives over a roundabout.

I thought we are getting rid of low performers. Our executives are not pulling their weight. We should have never bought MF, maybe we can divest it all?

the push to the cloud never made sense to me. they didn't want to give up the maintenance fees they were collecting (90%+margins). they tried to push customers to pay maintenance + their cloud subscriptions. If a customer is going to go to the trouble of moving to the cloud and paying full-price cloud subscriptions (maintenance + cloud costs) - they might as well trash your technology and find something newer and much better for the same or lower price. with price increases over the years a lot of those customers are paying more in maintenance than the original license fee.
