IT cuts will be 60-65% employee reduction in US

I have heard it on good authority from someone who is involved in the upcoming IT transformation org design (to be announced) that IT employee headcount reduction worldwide will be around 60-65%. Some Job roles will also be eliminated. In short, if you see a contractor doing the job you are doing today and it can be done remotely and involves no site specific engagement, assume it will be heavily reduced.

IT function is in round 1. Other BUs or groups are in round 2.

Scope for round 1 vs round 2?

LC has a bunch of folks on the LT with no credibility with functional leaders and BU leaders. He can’t do much to improve this situation because he can’t actually trust anybody around him.

Heard very similar things today. Two rounds, IT is in round 1, June 1st effective date. 60% cuts for US staff.

IT will be in round 1 (effective June). word on the street is all application support, risk management will be outsourced. 60-65% cuts are accurate. Round 2 will be effective October.

WTF is a snow link? I used the chat on the IT service page to talk with someone in India who created tickets for me. Searching for help on the IT service page is pointless.

The overall FTE count is not reduced.
Between Manila and Buenos Aires and Bangalore, there will be more IT employees than ever

It can’t be any worse than it is now. A help ticket for my PowerBI dataflow goes to a horrible India team already. When my computer kept forcing me to restart every few hours for some update, that ticket went to some horrible team in India. When I needed to install a program to do my job, that ticket went to nowhere for weeks until it finally ended up with a horrible India team who never could figure out how to help me.

I can’t remember the last time I talked to anyone in IT who was not already in India. I’m actually surprised there’s still that much left to cut in the US.

Sounds like a good estimate. the remaining 30+% will be the PO's, PM's, and above....
Wait until the ELT finds out the managers don't know how the work gets done, then they will be gone to. Like the ELT said, "...(Chevron) will change the way we do work and where the work is done..."

If any GMs, chapter heads, or DMs remain,
It'll all be for naught, it'll all be in vain!
For the worst rot, oh yes, it's at the top,
Where the stinky old problems just never stop!

Worldwide that doesn’t make any sense. Non-US and non-Australia locations will have to grow to absorb the work done by people cut in those offices.

I’ll be surprised if anyone still in San Ramon even has the option to move to Houston and wouldn’t be surprised if they’re all left standing after selections for those who don’t take the EOI package

Title says: "60-65% employee reduction in US"

Body says: "worldwide will be around 60-65%."

Your source needs to make up his mind.

Timeline (not yet hard set) will be shared at the IT townhall after the SETH. Presumably end of Q3 to end of October you will have severance packages given out after multiple opportunities to EOI.
