Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Layoff timeline

Now that we’re officially in the new fiscal year, any thoughts on when we’ll hear about leadership changes and potential layoffs?

@149 So true. In my case (as in many others I have talked to on my team), if anything WFH actually makes one even MORE available and more prone to working extra and over what is expected. I know I have had a hard time closing my laptop at 5pm many a time. And when wrenches are thrown late on a Friday into one’s project, with the expectation that rework is done in time for a Monday morning review with leaders, it doesn’t allow for much “work/life” balance.

The home service person is likely a disgruntled former Target employee that was let go. That post has sour grapes written all over it.

I don’t know why people are always casting aspersions on those who WFH. There are plenty of people who go into the office and don’t get anything done. They disappear to chat with friends, get coffee, wander over to Target and call it “research.” They surf the net and “network.” It’s more about the work ethic of the worker than their location.

Less attractive place to work? Wow, most don't know what work is at Target HQ. Meetings going on on the WFH computer as people are getting kids ready for school, doing laundry, running out for coffee. I have seen this first hand. When those laid off find new employment, they will be introduced to "work" not being coddled in a WFH coffee guzzling, laundry doing , more worried about work-life balance environment. Lol

The days before the cut off for the year. That way you get $0.00 in annual performance bonus. As always.

It will probably be well after earnings. In addition to the removal of DEI programs, I would anticipate leaders to try other shortsighted tactics to force voluntary resignations. They seem intent on making Target a less and less attractive place to work.
