Another Mike Wirth failure. He should have had the courage to take Anadarko but totally chickened out. Of course it was spun as disciplined Capital Management despite the obvious geographical/operational synergies, quality of the acreage and our mineral position that made this opportunity almost the perfect piece in our Permian jug saw. This purchase would have primed us to target Oxy next and incentivized us to monetize our lower priority acreage. However long term strategic visions are not his forte. How much is the Anadarco piece worth now Mike and what would our position look like with it in our portfolio?. You don't seem to understand that creating value is more important than reducing capital. The best part about paying more now and acquiring Oxy is that Vicky could be our new CEO. You will be remembered Mike as the great shrinker.
