Dump the current Chief Strategy amd Brand Officer. I can understand and support the arguments that the CEO needs greater depth in the business then can be obtained from recruiting retired flag officers. But someone who has never served has no business near a job with the title Chief Brand Officer. Where did this guy learn about what it is like to serve in the military....Zero Day PT???

If they cared they would start by cleaning up the power hungry HR/ER department first!
¯_(ツ)_/¯What You're Made Of, We're Made For¯_(ツ)_/¯
The absolute hubris of paying for a One Republic concert on campus stands out. Unbelievable waste. The lack of EMG leadership ability to navigate through the consent order has ki-led this company. The CEO that was in charge is in no way supposed to be celebrated. Results are results. Failure. This company will be carved up and sold for scrap within a few years.
I work from home and know more than my entire time sitting in San Antonio and produce 5x more work.
Broken company with a broken culture. Hope USAA can one day get back to its original glory.
At least the Spirit Halloween retail associates will get to eat that world-class Sodexo food. And nothing beats the terrible service you get at Chef's Table in BSB. That guy couldn't get an order right if his life depended on it. Must have been a DEI hire.

OK, you win!! The Spirit Halloween store comment cracked me up.
His first priority should be taking care of the employees. Period. What will happen is this: layoff a bunch of qualified people, finish the cutting of our once awesome benefits finally solidifying USAA as a shell of its former self while making it no better than any other financial services company. Then there will be the reliance on AI to do the work of all the employees that were either pushed out the door or jumped ship. Not soon after that we will have the worlds largest Spirit Halloween store on Fredericksburg Rd.
Lol freudian slip by the dinosaur "Daddy is back in the White"
Cry harder and start looking for a new job. Daddy is back in the White and he is going to make sure this country gets back to work instead of doing their laundry and waxing their carrot on company time.
Tell me you don't understand remote work without telling me you don't understand remote work.
I have productivity metrics out the wazoo for my team and they were significantly more productive during full time remote. Glad all you "big boys and girls" are promoting less work getting done for our members just so you can have your water cooler talk and breakfast tacos. Hopefully you'll grow so big soon that you'll all retire and the next generation can focus on actual work and outcomes over CuLtUrE.
Yes. #1 priority for our new CEO is definitely to get rid of someone no one has ever heard of and whose job will have zero impact on employees. The number one priority definitely should not be fixing our ridiculous RTO policy, rolling back silly benefits changes, or any of the other obvious and easy fixes he could implement on day one to help employee engagement. You're right. The Brand Officer is definitely the biggest problem.
