The only rational explanation that can justify this clown (MN) being first considered to be a manager much less being elevated to the executive level is that the ELT are a bunch of imbeciles. How a dunce like MN gets to be Vice Chairman is beyond any common sense. Just ask yourself what took so long for this incompetent rube to figure that our processes are rife with inefficiencies, missteps, and structural burdens. MN has never been involved in any project of consequence nor lead any division. MN has no clue what it takes to get the work done. I'm sure MW will reward this Bozo again for being the bubbling, stumbling, lying fool that he is.

Bro, actually read the “email”. It’s a joke. No one has common sense or critical thinking anymore

Thanks to bt+1 for posting the whole email... I am glad my EOI was accepted on Project Alpha 10 years ago ... I have been having fun as a retiree while the corporation every several years has continued to reorg/transform/downsize .... it seems like constant churn and that CVX continues to love work processes and consultants! I would be pretty disgusted getting that in my CVX inbox if I were still at work!

Hey Team,

McKinsey told us that we have too much Human Energy.

Don’t do anything stupid please.

Thanks,

It might be false but It does bring back memories of PB’s infamous rant blaming everyone for not working hard enough to implement their glorious initiatives

That message doesn't look real..... if it is real, then it's a confirmation that we are just ....... numbers.

Human Energy! Unless we want you to take the blame for our incompetence, and overly complex processes. It seems spiteful bullying has taken root.
That was a really inspiring, morale lifting message….or maybe not.

Ha ha! That surely must be one of the worst, and most contradictory, management messages I have ever seen. It just displays awesome incompetence and a complete lack of empathy.

Here's the email for those that missed it.

Dear Team,

As we reflect on the past year, one thing is abundantly clear: we have achieved levels of success that few could have ever imagined. The strides we’ve made, the milestones we’ve reached, and the sheer impact of our work have been nothing short of extraordinary in ensuring ever cleaner and more reliable energy. It is no exaggeration to say that we have redefined what success looks like in projects like FGP and CCS.

And yet, despite this undeniable success, we must also acknowledge the reality that, in many ways, we have fallen short—spectacularly so. Our achievements, while vast, have also been riddled with inefficiencies, missteps, and structural burdens that threaten to overshadow the very success we have worked so hard to build. Some might even say that, in our pursuit of excellence, we have failed in ways that are both profound and difficult to fully articulate. And that’s okay. Because true success is not just about thriving—it’s about recognizing when parts of that success need to be removed entirely for the greater good.

That is why, in light of our overwhelming success and equally overwhelming failure, we must take decisive action. We have reached a level of achievement so great that we can no longer sustain it in its current form. To move forward, we must optimize, streamline, and, yes, make strategic reductions. This is not a reflection of failure, nor is it a reaction to success—it is both. And it is neither. And it is necessary.

As we embark on this next phase, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to all of you—those who will remain and those who, through no fault of their own, will no longer be part of our ongoing success story. Every one of you has played a role in getting us to this moment, and that is something we will never forget, even as we move forward without some of you.

Let us remain focused, committed, and unwavering in our dedication to what comes next. Because together, we’re not just on the path to success—we are the success, with or without you.

Stay safe,
MN

That man's emails are so fake, I usually report them as phishing. He is one of the few leaders I have seen that can write less authentic than AI.

MN is a complete weasel. He should be the poster child of what Chevron has become. Old dude with perfect hair that lies through his pearly white teeth and makes sheety decisions at ever turn.

I wouldn't trust MN as far as I could throw him. During the last transformation, he lied through his teeth. He was/is the axe man for MW. The reward was a new title of vice chair. They know exactly who is going and who is staying. My suggestion is to start looking yesterday because these snakes won't care what your situation is. They believe that they are saving the company by removing the rot. Good luck to all.

Was thinking he would provide a little more glimpse into how we will work differently and better in the future. I read the three leader messages he linked and they were the exact same. There isn’t any authenticity in these messages. Nothing to inspire the troops. Safety, Returns, Lower Carbon Hooray!
