Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

IT is a sinking ship

What message does it send up and down the whole organization to see what’s gone on so far:

External contractor that was expected to become the head of data and insights - GONE for who knows what after just 2-3 months.

Highly regarded chief info security officer leaves, possibly taking other good cyber people with him since he brought in those capable people from running cyber for national security

One person leaving may not matter, but we are in need of change right now, not have this reorg be dragged out and no one good to fill in these boxes on the org chart.

LC is an empty suit hired to do nothing more than carry out BK and McKinseys plans. The dude has no leadership presence, no communication skills, no familiarity with anything we do at Chevron, and has just been hiding in a hole somewhere ever since he was hired. He’s completely useless except to the ELT as a sacrificial goat who can also sign off on layoffs.

LC needs to be a bit more approachable. That guy is so cold.

@c3: ah, I see we’ve interacted multiple times in the past! But good news! I’ve decided to cut out the middle person and just skip straight to the not delivering part, since it’s a foregone conclusion that cyber will say no.

How is that for efficiency and aligning and inspiring?

I’m a risk analyst. This is what I do every day. “Sorry you can’t do that.” “Nope sorry you still can’t do that.” “You want to do something good? No sorry you can’t do that.” Exceeds Expectations!!!!!

Auditors, Risk Analysts, Risk Managers, Agile sh!t, Product lines who pretty much don't want anything coming there way are all useless.. wasting money !! You can do with 25% of those.. and get rid of this sh!!ty model of Product lines and all .. all it does is slows down the work on name of standardization

How do I get one of those auditor jobs where I get to travel everywhere and do nothing but spread misery to everyone around me when I tell them they’re doing a bad job?

All of LC's directs should be held accountable for the mess IT is in. Oh but wait the rats don't have a succession plan - if they do, it's their inbred pets. I expect the same losers will continue to be in charge. They should take a clue from CL's exit - but then not one of them can survive outside in a real job.

After 5 years of this platform / Agile model, I’m curious to see what’s next. When the reorganization/work restructure is announced and if it’s the same nonsense we’ve been dealing with, I’ll take the bonus, request for an EOI and then take a few months off and start a job hunt. If I can’t get an EOI and I’m not laid off, then I’ll just work and job hunt on the side. It’s not complicated.

Sinking ship? That ship has already sunk and we are sharing the lifeboats with the rats Provisions are getting low and help isn’t anywhere near.
