There are many indications that Drives and Systems may be split by location, SHK and LCO, dare to guess where each one ends up?

For the person asking what systems do, let me ecplain. We find real world bugs in the sh---y drive firmware. We print out emails to PDF and safe them off. Emails showing deception, and how bad HAMR really is. That's just a small sample. Emails that will be released when Systems is dumped.
Systems group makes things that hard drives go into. Almost nobody directly uses an individual hard drive. The vast majority of HDDs go into some kind of system that helps manage the drives and the communication from the system to servers. It makes a lot of sense for Seagate to own a part of that stack.
The biggest problem is most people don't see systems as bringing in much money. Because some bean counter decided that when a system is sold full of drives, the system and the drives be counted separately. Systems would be perceived better if the whole system (system and drives) were counted as a sale for the systems group.
Drives sold directly to a customer count as a drive sale. But when those same drives are sold as part of a system, that should be counted as a system sale. And it's not. So people think systems isn't bringing in that much money.
Check the ratio of revenue Systems vs HDD brings in and you will see your question makes no sense whatsoever.

They can't. They mismanaged the physical location of assets so badly it would require 1/2 of each building to be moved. Systems will likely be sold off and if the current model is repeated the company that buys them will rent out the space in the leased building for a time which would be LCO. (Seagate no longer owns LCO or SHK). The more likely scenario is that SHK would be consolidated into NRM. Again, it hasn't been done yet because of the enormous cost of moving everything. That's why they settled on selling al lease back of SHK and LCO so the company would only pay for the space they used.
