Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

4Q earnings call

Did anybody else feel that MW started the call with very low energy and then became almost agitated and called out Investor Relations guy for allowing some off-script questions to be asked? Thoughts?

Also, can we please get EB some coaching to stop using “uhm” and “you know” fillers? This is basic stuff.

Did this sound previously recorded and only chiming in live with the updated numbers, almost like MW was cobbled together from different conversations? Maybe this is the future, use AI! If this was a production recording issue, you'd think they would be able to get it together for a public facing call; save the dumpster fires for internal calls.

Cash flow waterfall chart was ugly. We took on debt and still couldn’t cover the dividend and buybacks. If oil prices drop, we are seriously fooked.

EB not the only uhm and errr person on the call. did you hear mikey trying to explain the duster in Namibia, but why we're going to pursue more exploration in that basin? umm geology and something about sedimentary rocks i think and umm something about a seismic wavelet I think maybe perhaps we're trying to learn something...can an analyst help me out here?

He should have been made to retire - he is not the savior - too old for this business world

MW was very cranky. I can’t believe he undressed his Investor Relations Manager on a live call - JS must have wanted to crawl under a rock after MW called him out. Then MW decides to be cranky with the next analysts and called him crafty. I wonder if MW is feeling the mountain of mistakes he has made now staring his legacy in the face. This includes succession plans. And, he fumbled through the discussion when questioned by an analyst about expanding the power business when they have been so vocal over the years and saying they wouldn’t expand into power. MW’s house has cracks that are growing larger and larger by the quarter, by the year…….sad.

It’s just gonna get worse until Darren Woodsy eventually leads the earnings calls…

Being dismissed and belittled by leadership for asking a fair but challenging question? It’s the Chevron Way!

Hypocrisy to the roof, they wanna look good when the results speak for themselves, and want to be asked questions that they can answer and have studied hard beforehand, what a shame!
