Manila is cheaper and better than the Bangalore “talent” that E&Y is providing us

@an+1jjwf3tfg have you looked at the job descriptions and requisite qualifications for engine jobs? They are not going after the IT MSP roles.

I'm done pushing MSP forward. Hands off. It seems CVX is happy to pay less for less. Why break my neck for their cost savings. I hope folks facing engine learn to take the same approach for their sanity.

ENGINE will be entirely green workforce who primarily have not worked in OIl & Gas, maybe IT services for various fortune 500 companies, but no Oil and Gas. Alot of less than 10 years of experience people who primarily are relatively a few years out of college, in the hopes Americans will train them to learn how to do their jobs before they are laid off. That is exactly what has happened at BP, Shell, and Exxon.

ENGINE will hopefully be staffed with folks more experienced than MSP contractors, but I’ll believe that when I see it. I’ve had more conversations than I can count exactly like the commenter below described. They’re fine at keeping lights on, but as soon as you ask them to do anything new or off script it falls apart.

I worked with a MSP team today that has been working on implementing a modification on their application since Oct of 2024. They are paralyzed and cannot move forward to implement the redundancy. They have no idea who to contact nor do they understand the components required to support an important application in Finance. If this is the new model of support, then CVX ELT is in for a big surprise in the future. The people on the call could not even answer my questions so I could help them with the next steps. I told them to open a ticket with the cloud team. WOW! :)

Many have their engines idling and just waiting for the EOI to change to green so they can drive off into a better life

Yes, the talent level is leaps and bounds above what we have here. And they realize that having a job means you have to actually "work", imagine that. Pray that you still have a job after it's over.

There is a building phase, gradually is coming together by end of H1.
