All signs point to cheapness at USB, from not matching contributions year round to moving to a non-safe harbor 401k plan. Will a business that is thriving need to literally nickel and dime their employees?
I’ve worked for a few banks in my time. The fact that USB is the only one to make its matching contributing all at once and basically at the last allowable time per IRS regs just reeks of cheapness. You can’t make it at the same time I do and hold it in a restricted account if not fully vested? Save $2 and deny employees a year of market gain in contributions. Really pathetic.
There is no Feb 31. 401K match is done in Jan. It is not yet posted as of today. Tomorrow is Jan 31, which is end of month. Therefore, it will post tomorrow. MyHR page on the intranet is a good source for this type of information.
