Severance packages are complete cr-p. 4 weeks? Tell me months in advance so I can prepare for my job search. Ain’t nobody finding a job within 4 weeks.

You’re an employee at will and severance packages are not required by any corporation.
It’s sounding like they skirted the WARN act by doing it a couple people below the warning threshold. So let’s say they axed 460 people in CT and the threshold was 500 for triggering WARN in just CT. Problem is PW is a global company and it all adds up. I think they floated a VSP but it would have caused quite the exodus. Hope this backfires, and more people leave but it’s all part of eliminating Pratt’s Connecticut footprint.
I've been there and it really stinks. Reach out to your network and apply to many positions. Even ones you may not be excited for make great interview practice.
One takeaway is to be prepared next time. Put some cash in the bank and keep resume up to date. As another said. The company (all companies) are cr-p and don't care about you. Especially true for mega corps. Good luck
A person is important to the Company until they are not; then, the person is expendable…. The Company pays you for your time on a bi-weekly basis and evens up with the person….
The feeling does stink, I get it, but you have to look out for yourself because the Company looks at you as a expendable tool that can be replaced by a cheaper, more efficient tool on a regular basis
F-c them all
I got laid off in 2023. Worst day of my life but I’m much happier.
