Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Ok let's try this instead - what INDUSTRIES are better

Ok so banking is sh-t. At least medium and big banks. What industries are doing decent and are not in the middle of a 2-4 year layoff bloodbath frenzy? Obviously not big tech or banking. But any others, that have larger companies with plenty of corporate employees?

Trying to avoid becoming a welder or electrician or car salesperson if I can.

Leadership/Management/Resource positions.

Look in "Essential" sectors. This is where NOT having leadership opportunities comes back to haunt you.

Depending on your age you can switch fields pretty easily. Sell yourself. Make yourself seem like a gift to whoever you're applying towards.

Some city jobs like janitor pays $300k a year if you have overtime.

Cops in some city also make over $300k a year, if you get overtime.

Working for the government is not the answer, unless you want to bend the knee to everything.

I would try and work for your local state government. Forget Federal, they are on the chopping block. All publicly traded companies will slash staff to boost stock prices, so forget about them. Most state government jobs have excellent benefits and pensions. I should have ignored my parents and skipped college. A high school custodian has a bigger pension than I do at U.S. Bank.
