Thread regarding Genuine Parts Co. layoffs

All GPC Employee

The H-1B visa program is supposed to address high-skill labor shortages. Unfortunately, it's been abused to exploit cheap foreign labor at the expense of the American worker.

Calling all H-1B whistleblowers. If you work in tech management or human relations and have witnessed one of the following please reach out:

  • Underpayment of H-1B visa holders below the prevailing wage
  • Replacement of American workers with H-1B workers for the purpose of cost reduction
  • Falsification or misleading information in H-1B visa applications
  • Any other form of abuse or unethical practices related to H-1B visa employment

GPC has undertaken a large campaign of offshoring since they hired Naveen Krishna. Eliminating roles based in America for years and only using two contracting companies (TCS + Cognizant) both based in India. The IT dept is now 70% staffed by contractors in India (2500 out of 3500 roles) and over-represented locally by H1b Indians. Locally, the 3100 location that used to be primarily American FTE's is now flooded with Indian contractors. Naveen has kept his direct reports to a homogeneous mix but one level lower you will find gross over-representation of Indians. There are also Perm notice of filings hidden from the public job board.

Genuine auto parts aka Napa Auto parts , Gave me an issue returning to work after I fell on a sheet of ice back in Jan 2025 I had to literally ask my dr to release me with no accommodations needed as I was denied the smallest accommodation I was actually told no accommodation work release Dr note would be needed to even return back to work, I was delivering auto parts for passed year but HR comes and lays me off from a position I have not done in over 6 months I was a dispatcher until a delivery driver passed away and we needed help most in delivering the parts and that’s what I have done basically the past I say 8 months that I was at the job as I was there for 3 years and can do any position there from waiting on customers to answering phones to delivering parts and stocking parts so I’m not sure how I get played off from a position I don’t do anyway , Something isn’t right here and I’m gonna get to bottom of all this

I would talk to a labor attorney before you do anything. Given the changes over the last 2 years I beleave everyone that has been pushed out has a case.
