Savvy Richmonders know not to work at Capital One.
I agree. They are never done. I was promoted year end and fell to below strong 3 months later under new leadership. I expected it as the mean girls had shown up. Years of experience and hard work, deep relationships with business partners and a history of very strong performance meant nothing. Save those bonus dollars because your day will come too. If over 50, just know you will not grow old and retire so stay prepared. Get ready as they will continue to trim 10% twice a year.
In about 5 years, about 20 percent of the current Discover population will remain. They will be the shameless a-s kissers and smelly Jeets
Yes, straight to PIP continued this cycle
I do not believe that all the PIPs will be Discovery employees. They are definitely going to have to try to steal recognition from the COF folks who have worked their way into favor with higher ups who will protect them if possible, but there are going to those same type of people coming from Discovery who will find a way to game the system and be rewarded. Everybody needs to watch their back. Being a team player and sharing your accomplishments at Capital One will only hurt your career.
All discover employees will be pip candidates this year
They are never done. They overdo it sometimes and there will be a lull, but it will always be back. They have been doing this regularly since about 2001. If you work here, save your money, be prepared for the next cycle. This is a core principle of Capital One HR. They will tell you they love you, they appreciate your long hours and hard work, however, they are always going to ratchet numbers and slash and burn when they feel they want to fiddle with the numbers to make the earnings look better. Work here, just don't be stupid and think you have a career. Save your money. Just my two cents and I have seen it all.
