Mattel announces Building Bricks , isn’t that why MEGA Brands was acquired? Mattel has never proven any type of skill when entering the building block segment!

whoever managed to gaslight the board into incepting this financial gravity well of a business venture deserves a medal. this tells us all that the company is run by a bunch of clowns
The crazy thing about BoomCo’s failure, despite all the investment into the brand, is that a few years later ZURU toys, of all people, starts eating Nerf’s lunch with their X-Shot blasters. Mattel could have only dreamed about capturing the sort of market share Zuru has.
Boomco was the NERF ripoff product by Mattel. It met the same fate as most Mattel knockoffs…… right down the cr@pper when up against the competition.
It might be as good as the nerf replacement from some years ago.
Mattel Brick shop is 99% for sure just Mega but renamed.
Did they move MEGA to California or is it still in Canada?
This is only my guess, but Mega will become just another brand, albeit with a new name. Design will be handled in Hong Kong, with a couple designers on staff in El Segundo to approve.
It’s relatively a given that this attempt will fail, miserably.
There are 3 ways to take on LEGO, the right way, the wrong way and the Mattel way. The Mattel way will statistically go poorly. Look at the previous attempts and the way this company conducts its Business. Does anybody think the baffoon M/k€ Or@th has any skill in leading this type of effort ? Let alone the marketing efforts competency? They will cr-p the sheets when confronted with LEGO’s engineering, creative and business acumen.
Presumably this will just be MEGA projects branded as Mattel, right?
